This is my fourth post on this product. You can find the previous three linked below:
- L'Oreal Paris La Couleur Infallible Eyeshadow Review and Swatches (Endless Chocolat, Bronze Divine, Emerald Lame, Burning Black, Black Onyx, Sahara Treasure)
- More Colours and Swatches (Purple Obsession, Goldmine)
- Matte Finish Swatches (Enigmatic Purple, Smoky Green)
For some reason, each country these are sold in seem to carry different colours. The three posts above feature colours that are available in Canada, while the two colours in this post were found in the US.
I found these at Target on sale for $5.99 (regular $6.99 for 3.5g/0.12oz).
Has the same stopper as the Canadian ones, except this one is grey and says "Do Not Discard" (and in French as well at the bottom). The Canadian one says "A Converser- Keep Me" (and in French as well).
Bronzed Taupe- very shimmery light bronze that is both warm and cool toned
Continuous Cocoa- Rich dark matte brown, almost black
Bronzed Taupe, Continuous Cocoa
Continuous Cocoa (top), Bronzed Taupe (bottom)
Bronzed Taupe is great. It's a colour that has both cool and warm tones (either is more prominent when matched with a cool or warm skin tone) which makes it a great colour that almost anyone can pull off. It has the same texture as the other shimmery colours that I've reviewed in my previous posts and there is no real dupe for it amongst the colours currently available in Canada.
Continuous Cocoa is matte which was a surprise. Until recently, all the colours available in Canada were shimmery. Then the Matte collection came out which I wasn't too impressed with. Continuous Cocoa is definitely matte, but there is no indication on the packaging that it is matte finish (Bronzed Taupe didn't have a description either). I was hoping CC to be a rich and dark shimmery brown, but it being matte finish isn't disappointing. While the Matte Collection in Canada featured colours that weren't richly pigmented, CC is the exception. It's rich and dark and applies smoothly. It's so dark that it's almost black, but if paired with a lighter brown, the brown tones in it would definitely be noticeable. It would make a great eyeliner as well.
The best thing about the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows in the US is the price. They are priced at $6.99 at Target which is a huge difference compared to the $10.99+ at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.
Hopefully when Target comes to Canada, they'll bring along these great prices too!
