Joe Fresh Blush in Plum

I'm slowly starting to further explore Joe Fresh makeup products.

This brand can be found in large grocery stores in Canada and in addition to their makeup line, they also have a clothing line.

I bought this blush for $5. They are $6 in stores, but sometimes they have a $1 coupon at Superstore.

It's more pink and purple toned in real life.

I find this to be a very pigmented blush, which isn't always ideal. Because of this, I tend to use it very lightly so as to get a hint of colour rather than a blotch of colour. It has some shimmer in it and it is a traditional 'berry' colour. I think I'll end up getting something more peachy in colour as it seems to suit me best, but overall, this blush applies and blends well and isn't too shimmery.

I know that Joe Fresh has expanded into the US, but I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else.

I definitely recommend their products because I've had great luck with them so far, and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Joe Fresh Cream Eyeshadows

I'm not sure if these are new, but I recently discovered these at Superstore (large grocery store chain in Canada). Joe Fresh is a Canadian company which makes many types of products (clothing, makeup, etc) and is sold at Loblaws stores. They are $6 each and there are approximately 10 colours. They are all neutral colours (and most looked the same) and as there weren't any testers, I picked out two that looked a lot different from each other.

They are very pigmented, but I haven't had a chance to use them much. I will write another post with my thoughts after I've tried them out! :)

Christmas Gift Idea #4: Joe Fresh Eye Shadow Palette Holiday 2011

This is a review of the new Holiday 2011 eyeshadow palette by Joe Fresh. It is a Canadian brand which can be found at many large grocery stores. I've done a review of their single eyeshadows which you can read by clicking here. 

This palette costs $12 and it comes with 22 eyeshadows. It also comes with 4 double-ended sponge-tip applicators.

This is the tag that it comes with. I think this palette would make a great gift/stocking stuffer!

This is what it looks like coming out of the outer packaging.

 The photo below shows each of the eyeshadows. They all have names and some of them are from their permanent line. The names are in both English and French. I'll distinguish between the English and French names by using a '/' in between. Some have the same name in both English and French.

The quality of these eyeshadows is above average. Though some of the colours from their permanent line appear in this palette, the quality between the palette and the single eyeshadows do not compare. This is a common occurrence with palettes.

The single eyeshadows are soft, while these are a bit chalky. The pigmentation is about the same, but they apply a lot differently.

I think it's cool that they released a palette because the Joe Fresh line is very good quality, but I wish the quality of this palette were the same as the single eyeshadows.

The quality is still pretty good though and I've been using this palette for the past few days :)

Joe Fresh: Eye Shadow (Canadian Grocery Store Brand!)

This is a review of the Canadian brand Joe Fresh which can be found at the following grocery stores: The Real Canadian Superstore, Fortino's, Loblaws. They sell a variety of makeup products at affordable prices, including these eyeshadows which I bought for $4 each and some stores sell them for 3/$9. They have 24 colours available, and I purchased two of them.

Colours (left to right): Chocolate, Twig

Please note that the photo above turned out a bit too dark, so the colours are a bit lighter in person (the swatches provide a more accurate representation).

Chocolate is a rich dark brown colour, very pigmented and had some shimmer to it, but is basically matte. Twig is a nice medium brown, also very pigmented and has no shimmer in it. Both are very soft and blend very easily. I really like both of these colours, and I'll likely pick up some more the next time I'm at the grocery store.

Again, the above photo is a bit too dark, but you can see the shimmer in the Chocolate colour. The packaging might look cheap, but it's actually very durable and the plastic is thick and won't crack with normal use.

The above picture is a better representation of what these colours look like in real life, and keep in mind that these are not swatched over a primer.

I definitely recommend these eyeshadows! You can't beat the price, and I love that this is a Canadian brand and is available at the bigger grocery stores.

If you're in the U.S. and are interested in the Joe Fresh brand, do not despair! They will be opening stores this fall in New York, New Jersey and Long Island.
